Balloon Vine

Excitement Is Ephemeral
Inspiration is Perennial

I found this plant in our small garden, my elder sister enlightened me of its high importance. Locally it’s called Indravalli in Sanskrit and Mudakathan in Tamil. Cardiospermum is it’s technical or botanical name.

Thank you for your excellent explanation. I am interested in growing plants not just for their beauty, but for medicinal reasons too. I will have to look for this plant and add it to my garden. Thank you for sharing.

      Hi,

It’s a great honour to hear your kind words.

      1. Mudakathan (Cardiospermum) powder can be given to patients who suffer from joint pain. The benefits of mudakathan leaves (greens) are more and we can add this in our daily diet.
      2. Also according to Wikipedia, Extractions of Cardiospermum seed are included in skin creams that claim to treat eczema and other skin conditions.

Our folks usually use the leaves in our daily diet.

If you need more information please let me know, I will try to get them for you.

      Regards
      Babu, Suresh
